—  About

To write about my life is to write a series of short stories, avoiding the telling of tall tales, and, as Questlove says, “finding my own unique way of fitting into the continually repeating human experience.”

I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the summer of 1997 and have spent my developing years in Midwest U.S.A while escaping to far away places when my mind became obnoxiously restless for more. Culturally, I was raised in an environment that provided me the confidence to expand my interests and pursue them tenaciously. Of the trades I have acquired over the years, the origin theme to them all is the curiosity for humanity and how to connect deeper.

The stage was the first place that I recognized who I was. This period of my life started during my third year of high school in the suburbs of Kansas City while some would argue that my theatrical debut dates back to 2007 through an unnamed youtube doppelgänger (you will never find it). With every intention of securing a scholarship to play football at university, in 2015 my life changed after auditioning for a school play while starting quarterback at my high school. I became fascinated how people from all walks of life, many considered outsiders or misfits, expressed themselves unashamed, without judgement. This revealed a sense of freedom that had never been tangible before. It was not long after immersing myself in this theatrical setting of self expression that I left behind what I had before to find what made me who I am today.

I picked up a camera in 2012 after a conversation with a friend regarding a past memory that had completely slipped my mind. This memory I had failed to recall had only been a year before and in that moment I realized that the visual documentation of my life would play a vital part of my recollection of life moving forward. That is when I called up my grandfather, a decorated film photographer in Philadelphia, and planned a visit to see him and learn from his years in the field.

That time driving across the northeast to New York City, Boston, and everywhere in between catapulted me into what has now become a decade long chase to see more. I have spent time exploring over 25 countries around the world and most of these United States photographing and telling stories of my travels in hopes to inspire others to experience the cultural buffet this world has to offer.
